- 60 teachers are trained as CCLS facilitators and apprentice facilitators in trainings three times during the year.
- Vertical planning continued with 10 middle school teachers, 24 high school teachers, 10 UMB STEM faculty and 8 instructors from Roxbury Community College. College board consultants co-facilitated.
- Articulation Team formed to examine the three "freshman" level science courses, AP science, community college and university. John Eggebrecht, Director of Science Redesign for Advanced Placement at the College Board, presented to the group about revisions planned to the AP tests.
- BSP vertical planning team members invited to participate in revisions of the College Board's "Vertical Teaming in Science Guide." The Boston model will be featured.
- BSP Contextualized Content Courses reached 235 participants (153 unique teachers) and provided 13,755 hours of professional development to area teachers.
- COSMIC Colloquium invites Dr. Carl Wieman, Phyics Nobel laureate, to speak. The President of the University of Massachusetts Jack Wilson introduces him to over 100 faculty and guests.
- Northeastern University launches Masters of Science in Middle School Science, attracting ten students in the first year.
- The NSTA National Convention is held in Boston, with active support from the BPS science department. BPS human resources hosts a recruitment reception. Dozens of BPS teachers and BSP staff give presentations.
- Northeastern University and UMass Boston both see increases in BPS students applying to, being accepted by and matriculating into STEM majors.
- 28 full CCLS cycles were completed with over 56 teachers serving as either facilitators or apprentice facilitators.
- Northeastern University and UMass Boston receive the Greater North Shore Science Partnership grant to further expand the reach of BSP Contextualized Content Courses.
